We are pleased to be partnering exclusively with a financial services organisation based in South London as they search for an Internal Communications Manager to join them on a 15-month maternity cover contract paying £55k - £60k.

The Internal Communications Manager will play a key role in connecting colleagues to the organisation's purpose, values, and strategic direction. Their engaging communications will inform, inspire, and foster a sense of belonging across the organisation. Acting as editor-in-chief for internal channels, they ensure content is created to a high standard, visually engaging, and aligned with business objectives. They also oversee internal communications projects, including DEI initiatives, using data and feedback to continuously improve how messages are delivered.

Beyond content creation, the role empowers others across the organisation to contribute to internal storytelling, building a network of publishers and coaching them to share meaningful updates. They champion innovation in communication tools and formats, embracing multimedia and new ideas to keep internal engagement fresh. As a leader within the Communications team, they support the development of junior colleagues and model the organisation's values in everything they do.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead on day-to-day internal communications across all channels
  • Lead on internal communications projects, thinking strategically and ensuring messaging and content are aligned with the organisation's strategic priorities
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to generate fresh and engaging content to deliver their messages
  • Event management: manage hybrid and in-person Town Halls, with some specialist external support
  • Line management of one report, supporting their continuous development

Key skills required:

  • Excellent copywriting and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret corporate information and communicate relevant points in an engaging way
  • Collaborative content planning skills; ability to create content and plans that communicate key messages effectively
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, can liaise with all levels of an organisation.
