About The Role
We're looking for a
Pre-Sales
Solutions Engineer Team Lead (DaaS & Analytics)
, who combines technical expertise with a drive to deliver real commercial impact. In this role, you'll partner closely with our sales team to unlock upsell opportunities and win new business. Acting as the technical authority throughout the sales cycle, you'll gain a deep understanding of customer use cases, identify ways to maximise customer value, and design tailored solutions that demonstrate our capabilities.
You will lead a small and growing team of Technical Pre-Sales engineers globally. This is a new team, and as such, you will play a key role in defining and executing its strategy and ways-of-working. You will build, scale and inspire a high-performing team that consistently delivers results.
Critical to this role is bringing the voice of the customer back into our business, and in doing so helping our teams shape strategy and roadmaps for DaaS. This is an opportunity to influence the future of a growing and strategically important aspect of the ICIS business, building operational excellence and delivering impactful business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Play a leading role in defining the strategy and ways-of-working for a newly forming team.
- Build, scale and inspire a high-performing global team that consistently delivers results (fewer than 4 people initially, with an expectation to scale).
- Partner with account managers to understand customer use cases and build solution designs.
- Build trusted relationships with customers and prospects, acting as a technical advisor throughout the sales process.
- Translate a customer's business and technical requirements into solutions that align with customer goals.
- Take an analytical approach to identifying new DaaS opportunities within the existing customer base.
- Deliver product demonstrations, presentations, and proof-of-concepts to prospective clients
- Collaborate with our Product, Tech and other internal teams to bring the voice of the customer back into our business and to influence the roadmap and strategic direction.
Requirements

- Experience of leading high-performing global teams.
- Demonstrable experience in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, or customer-facing technical role.
- Strong understanding of common customer-side technologies, including analytical systems such as data lakes, data warehouses, and data visualisation tools, and operational systems such as Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) and Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems, and CRM and ERP systems. Knowledge of Gen AI tools and experience with data analysis languages such as Python or R.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Problem-solving mindset and consultative approach.
- Ability to excel in a cross-functional setting with sales, product, technology and other business teams.
