The Role: Business Development Lead, Private Markets Valuations

The Team: The Private Market Valuations team is a market leader in supporting our clients with independent valuations of illiquid debt and private equity investments. The business development team is responsible for leading client engagement and commercial strategy for the business.

The Impact: This role drives revenue growth, go-to-market strategy, and client relationship management to expand the firm's footprint in the private markets.

  • Represent the firm externally and grow relationships with prospects and clients.

  • Participate in new business initiatives in private markets, a key area of strategic growth and investment for S&P Global.

  • Take on a leadership role in defining the future of our go-to-market strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a product expert on private asset valuations and assist sales teams in presenting our solutions to the market.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and prospects. Assist with renewals and client inquiries about our services.

  • Organize and lead client demos, meetings, webinars, and roundtables to promote solutions and gather feedback.

  • Lead go-to-market initiatives and campaigns for valuation services targeting private market participants.

  • Partner with the marketing team to develop sales enablement materials and thought leadership pieces, including white papers

  • Identify and execute cross-sell campaigns

  • Contribute to the development of internal business performance analysis tools and processes for tracking sales and revenue metrics

What We're Looking For:

  • Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas: private markets, asset valuation, fund accounting, fintech, or sales.

  • Analytical skills including advanced Excel capabilities and the ability to manage and use business intelligence tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage management complex projects and report on results

  • Strong business acumen and a track record in a role with client-facing responsibilities.

  • Excellent communication, organization, presentation, and negotiation skills

  • Collaborative mindset and a willingness to work intensively with colleagues
