Head Barista

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Barista at our brand new Hampstead Heath location (opening in February 2026) to lead our barista team in delivering exceptional speciality coffee, beverages and customer service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in speciality coffee, understanding the complexities and art of coffee making. They must have a passion for hospitality, team management and organisation. As the Head Barista, you will oversee all coffee operations, ensuring that our menu items and any specials are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Duties

• Supervise and manage coffee staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment along with creating rotas.
• Oversee coffee making inline with our processes, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the work space and storage areas.
• Have input and creativity towards new drink items, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current trends.
• Train and mentor your baristas, hold them accountable to food safety practices, and our operational procedures.
• Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to ensure smooth coffee operations.
• Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
• Monitor your departments performance metrics, adjusting processes as necessary to improve efficiency.
• Help the senior management team create future events and evening offerings.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Head Barista or in a similar role within a high-volume environment.
• Experience using top of the range grinders and coffee machines without the use of automation.
• Strong coffee and latte art abilities with a deep understanding of coffee origin and preparation techniques along with workplace safety regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in supervising and managing a diverse team.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment and plan months ahead.
• A passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering outstanding experiences.

Some training will be required once the successful candidate has been hired at our flagship shop in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. This location is a 10 minute walk from Harpenden train station.

Our flagship restaurant in Harpenden also offers a breakfast and lunch service. We strive to offer friendly and welcoming customer service throughout our business.

Brad & Dills was founded by two friends who grew up in Hertfordshire. Their mission was to bring a well rounded quality food and drink business using the industry experience they learnt in London and other cities across the globe. They realised that their home county needed a business like this and therefore set out to create Brad & Dills.

The business started in 2021 through the challenging COVID outbreak but navigated successfully through it and now has 4 sites, all of which have been very successful and are continuing to grow in popularity.
