We currently have one vacancy for an experienced and passionate SENDCO to join our new setting in Portswood.

Applicants MUST HAVE:

- A recognised Level 3 qualification or above in Early Years

  • At least a level 2 SENDCO qualification and be willing to untake a Level 3 SENDCO training as well as other training specific to the role

  • Experience of working in a childcare or early years setting and proven experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

  • With or be willing to gain a paediatric first aid training certificate

  • A sound knowledge of child protection, equality and inclusion and health and safety requirements.

Hours hours a week

  • Monday - 8:00 - 4:00
  • Tuesday - 8:00 - 4:00
  • Wednesday - 8:00 - 4:00
  • Thursday - 8:00 - 4:00
  • Friday- 8:00 - 4:00

Salary - £22, This reflects the actual salary not a FTE).

It is important that the successful person enjoys teaching the children in a fun learning environment. You will also be able to use your skills and ability to positively influence and motivate other adults and children.

Appointment is subject to references and an enhanced DBS check with barred list.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess and support children with SEND ensuring early identification and timely interventions,
  • Support and coach practitioners to make necessary adaptions to create a fun, inclusive learning environment that promotes learning and development
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all children requiring SEND support and ensure that all paperwork including EHCP's, funding requests and referrals are completed efficiently
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, our area SENDCO and other professionals to ensure a collaborative environment
  • Collaborate with management to uphold educational standards and improve practices
  • Maintain a safe and engaging learning space

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £22,599.20 per year
