This is a new and exciting role in the centre of Glossop, High Peak. We are looking for a banking assistant who is passionate and committed to delivering great customer service in a friendly and helpful environment.

You will need be self-motivated and able to work as part of a team or independently.

The role involves:

  • Handling personal banking, business banking accurately and efficiently. e.g. paying in cash and cheques and withdrawing cash.
  • Sorting out change for customers
  • Helping customers to pay utility bills including gas and electricity top ups.
  • Liaising with bank representatives (from a variety of banks who will visit this hub) to help customers to access the banking support they need

A usual week for this role at the hub would be two to three days a week but we may be able to negotiate. With the part-time position, these working days can be flexible if arranged in advance. There would also be an expectation to cover a small amount of colleagues' holidays.

The banking hub will be closed at weekends and on bank holidays.

Banking hubs are owned by Access to Cash UK, funded by banks and run by the Post Office. This position requires that you meet the standards of Post Office and you must be able to comply with the appropriate protocols. Successful candidates will be subject to a DBS check.

Post office or banking experience is an advantage but not essential as full training will be given. Candidates must be 18 or over.

Pay: From £12.21 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

Education:

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

  • Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
  • Administrative : 1 year (preferred)

Language:

  • English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
