About Aethos
Extraordinary places, passionate people, and shared learning experiences: this is Aethos. We believe that traveling and hospitality should leave a lasting positive impact on the mind, body, and soul. That's the reason why we choose our locations very carefully and work together with people who want to be part of a community instead of just "having a job". Everyone who works at Aethos can make a personal impact on the community and company - great ideas can come from anywhere.
We are a young and dynamic hospitality company that understands the value of time with friends and loved ones. We make a conscious choice towards sustainability and well-being, and the luxury of time and space. We stand for freedom from the stresses and anxieties of modern life. We want to be the first choice for anyone who seeks respite and refuge from the boring, the stressful, and the unsustainable. That's why we define hospitality differently: while all of our decisions should be made with the community and needs of our guests in mind, we always strive to create a community that we want to be part of and that improves the world around us. We invite you to be part of our story.
The Role
We are hiring a Group Director of Membership to build and lead the global Aethos Club membership business. This is a senior commercial role with full accountability for the membership P&L and the strategic direction of the Aethos club ecosystem. You will define the commercial strategy, pricing architecture, benefits, partnerships, and overall value proposition, ensuring a distinctive and consistent member experience across all Aethos properties. You will be the visible leader of the Aethos club community, responsible for evolving the membership product and stewarding our technology stack. Additionally, you will present regular insights to the CEO and collaborate with local teams to drive operational alignment and successful launches of new Aethos Clubs.
Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial Leadership & Growth: You will own full accountability for membership acquisition, retention, and revenue growth across the entire portfolio. This includes setting and delivering ambitious financial targets while leading the development of a world-class commercial strategy, including pricing and benefits, designed to maximize member lifetime value and recurring revenue. You will be personally responsible for the annual budget, regular re-forecasting, and overall P&L performance of the global membership business. Identifying, negotiating, and managing high-impact strategic partnerships that enhance member benefits and accelerate recruitment will also fall under your leadership. You will chair weekly and monthly performance reviews with local club leaders and key stakeholders, driving rigorous accountability, data-driven decisions, and continuous improvement.
Membership Proposition & Experience: You will continuously evolve the global Aethos membership offerings to ensure they remain differentiated, competitive, and aligned with the Brand. This includes establishing consistent operating standards, service protocols, and rituals that deliver an exceptional experience across every club and touchpoint. You will oversee local Aethos Club Partners and direct the curation of local and global members' programming and communications. You are also expected to organize regular members-only retreats in collaboration with General Managers.
Brand, Marketing & Community: In partnership with the central Marketing team, you will shape and execute a global membership marketing strategy that elevates Aethos club awareness and desirability in target markets. As the most visible ambassador of the Aethos club community, you will nurture relationships with top members and key influencers.
Data, Insight & Reporting: You will build and maintain membership performance dashboards that track funnel performance, revenue, retention, engagement, NPS, and profitability metrics. Regular competitive benchmarking and business-intelligence reviews will keep the organization ahead of market trends. You will present concise, actionable quarterly performance updates and strategic recommendations directly to the CEO.
Technology & Digital Ecosystem: You will own the entire membership technology stack, including CRM and data platforms, website and mobile apps, payment and billing systems, and all related integrations with the Aethos technology stack. You will define and prioritize a forward-looking technology roadmap that emphasizes seamless user experience, automation, scalability, compliance and commercial enablement as the portfolio expands.
Operational Excellence & Network Alignment: You will champion alignment between hotels, clubs, and the broader guest journey so that each element amplifies the value of the others. For every new Aethosclub opening, you will support pre-launch planning and integration, ensuring robust membership launch plans, full operational readiness, comprehensive team training, and clearly defined revenue targets are in place from day one.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Hospitality Management; a Master's degree is an advantage.
- 5+ years of experience in a senior membership role, preferably in hospitality or private member's club.
- Proven track record of owning a P&L and delivering sustained revenue growth and profitability.
- Demonstrated success in designing and launching membership products.
- Strong experience with CRM systems, digital ecosystems, and data-driven commercial decision making.
- Experience negotiating partnerships and managing relationships with high-profile stakeholders or brand partners.
