Our client is a leading force in red meat production, operating a complex network of beef processing facilities supported by a range of strategic joint ventures across complementary food categories across Europe. The Role

This is a senior leadership position offering significant influence and scope. The Group Engineering Director will take full responsibility for setting and delivering the organisation's engineering and asset management strategy across all sites and joint ventures.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical insight with the leadership and interpersonal skills required to inspire, develop, and align diverse teams across a large and complex operational network. This role calls for a leader who can drive excellence, raise standards, and build long-term capability within the engineering function while embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a group-wide engineering strategy that enhances reliability, performance, and innovation across all operations.
  • Lead and mentor a team of senior engineering professionals, building capability, succession strength, and a culture of high performance.
  • Oversee all capital investment programmes, ensuring projects are delivered to specification, budget, and deadline.
  • Introduce systems and processes that improve asset utilisation, energy efficiency, and operational resilience.
  • Work collaboratively with Group Operations, Supply Chain, and JV partners to align engineering priorities with broader business objectives.
  • Provide expert counsel to the Board on engineering risk, infrastructure planning, and long-term investment strategy.
