Job Overview

We have several exciting opportunities for Operatives to join our Pattern Book Making and Sampling department at our Head Office in Kirkby in Ashfield. As a Patterning Operative, you'll develop a range of skills and work flexibly across the Patterning teams, providing adaptable, high-quality support to meet customer needs. Your role will contribute to the production of premium patterning products, ensuring excellence and precision in every detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working in collaboration with the wider Patterning departments to prepare high quality patterning items for internal and external clients.
  • Laying out, cutting and folding fabric to set guidelines using a variety of processes, tools, and machines.
  • Working with prepared fabric through various steps of our production process (including Fusing machines, Guillotines, Glue guns, Staple guns, Groover machines, Drills and Eyeleting equipment)
  • Finishing fabric pieces by using an industrial overlocking machine, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail (applicable when/if trained)
  • Completing ticketing and carding processes within a/several departments, following production guides and product specifications
  • Ensuring a high-quality finish to each element of patterning production throughout every stage of the making process
  • Ensuring the correct job code is logged onto within the Ceequel system for work completed to support accurate reporting on cost calculations.
  • Proactively cleaning work areas ensuring health & safety guidelines are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensuring any problems are reported to the Patco Manager / Assistant Manager and / or Supervisor / Team Leader
  • Training colleagues on new equipment/processes when required (applicable to Level 4 colleagues)
  • Offering support to different sections within the Patterning department during peak times as and when requested by the Manager/Assistant Manager/Supervisor or Team Leader
  • Offering support to other areas of the business outside of the patterning department in times of need. Examples of this (but not limited to) are the Warehouse, Canteen and Employee engagement operations, if requested by the Manager/Assistant Manager/Supervisor or Team Leader
  • Any other duties that are required to support the smooth running of the department

Experience

To be successful in this role we are seeking candidates who are self-motivated, methodical and able to perform under pressure. You can be relied on to meet tight deadlines. You will have strong communication skills (written and verbal). You will be flexible and able to adapt to change at short notice.

If you have experience of working with fabrics, overlocking, or experience of using Polytex cutting machines and /or Reliant Fiblon Machines, that would be preferable, but not essential.

Pay: £25,926.79-£29,552.93 per year
