We are looking for a confident and proactive Duty Manager to join the management team at Sef Steakhouse.

As Duty Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service and exceptional guest experiences. You'll act as the point of contact for both the front-of-house and kitchen teams, maintaining standards, supporting staff, and taking ownership of service during your shifts.

This role is ideal for someone with strong operational awareness and leadership potential, ready to take the next step in their hospitality career.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily restaurant operations and lead shifts in the absence of senior management.
  • Ensure every guest receives the Sef Steakhouse experience – great food, great service, great atmosphere.
  • Supervise and motivate front-of-house teams to deliver efficient, friendly, and professional service.
  • Communicate clearly with the kitchen team to maintain consistency, timing, and quality.
  • Manage daily floor plans, reservations, and service flow.
  • Handle guest queries and complaints calmly and professionally, finding solutions that maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Support staff training and development, ensuring standards are followed at all times.
  • Take responsibility for end-of-day cashing up, reports, and handovers.
  • Uphold all Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and Licensing requirements.
  • Represent the management team with a positive and professional attitude on every shift.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Supervisor, Team Leader, or Duty Manager in a busy, quality-focused restaurant.
  • Strong floor presence with great communication and leadership skills.
  • Passionate about hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Calm under pressure and confident in making quick, effective decisions.
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling operational tasks.
  • A hands-on leader who motivates through example and professionalism.
  • Eager to grow into an Assistant Manager or higher management role within the business.
