Planning Manager

At Dornan we are currently recruiting for a Planning Manager to work on our hyperscale data centre project in Newport Wales.
Your day to day will include:
- Managing & leading a team of Planners (Grad, Jnr, Intermediate, Senior).
- Ensuring team is structured and roles & responsibilities are clearly defined.
- Ensure team and individual deadlines are met.
- Project Planning using Primavera P6 or ASTA PowerProject.
- Using Softwares like Excel, Power BI & Bluebeam to producing day to day deliverables.
- Develop Pre-Construction, Construction and Commissioning Program's as part of the Dornan project team.
- Ensure Site walks are caried out on a weekly basis to ensure the planner is familiar with the projects progress.
- Scheduled and ad hoc discussions with all/any projectteam members around day to day site issues/events.
- Manage the planning process in terms of developing and managing the project lifecylce in terms of planning & progress, driving the Dornan team to engage.
- Attend formal and informal project meeting and reviews with all stakeholders, including internal to Dornan, Clients, Suppliers, Service Providers and Subcontractors.
- Maintain good relations and facilitate exchange of information between client and Dornan, as well as internally to assure alignment of strategic objectives.
- Be an active member in the cross-functional project team, liaising with Commercial Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA, Turnover, and other Functions; identify potential areas of concern and resolve them before they become issues.
What we are looking for:
- Advanced user of Primavera P6 or Asta.
- Solid Mechanical and Electrical construction experience, ideally in data centre projects.
- Knowledge and experience of Delay Analysis Techniques.
- Knowledge of BIM & Engineering Process particularly at Pre-Construction Stage.
- Knowledge & understanding of QA handover Process and Commissioning (Cx) at project turnover stage.
