The opportunity
Are you an exceptional Management Accountant with a passion for driving process improvements and making the most of our new finance management system, Business Central? Do you thrive on building strong business partnerships? Are you looking to make a meaningful impact on the lives of thousands of people across Wales?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Wales & West Housing Association (WWHA) — a values-driven organisation with a strong social purpose. We're looking for a Management Accountant (Operations) who combines business insight, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to support our directors in maintaining our housing stock to the highest standards.
Your attention to detail and strategic insight will be key in developing quarterly rolling forecasts and supporting informed decision-making. This is a hands-on role, working closely with teams across the organisation to produce accurate management accounts, supporting schedules, and clear financial narratives that explain performance and guide future action.
As the Management Accountant (Operations), you will play a central role in maximising the benefits of our newly implemented finance system, Business Central. You'll drive improvements in financial processes, enhance data quality, and increase the timeliness of reporting by automating tasks and streamlining workflows.
You'll be part of a dedicated finance maintenance team of four, with one direct report, and will work closely with the other two members of team, the Finance Manager and Financial Accountant to deliver timely information and continuous improvements. Your strong interpersonal skills and collaborative approach will help foster a culture of learning and innovation, always looking for ways to do things better.
We're passionate about our values and committed to delivering the best possible service to our residents, staff and stakeholders. Working in a dynamic environment, where systems and processes are constantly evolving, we're looking for someone who can be an agent for change and deliver real, measurable benefits to the association to make difference to the lives and communities of our residents in Wales.
If you're looking for the next step in your career or a new opportunity within an ambitious and forward-thinking organisation, this could be the ideal role for you. We offer a competitive benefits package that includes generous annual leave, flexible working arrangements, a choice of pension schemes, financial support for medical and optical treatments through a Benenden health Cashplan. We offer clear opportunities for career progression, with annual incremental salary increases and inflationary uplifts, along with financial support towards gaining professional qualifications.
Who are Wales & West Housing Association (WWHA)?
Wales & West Housing Association is one of the leading housing providers in Wales, delivering affordable homes and services to over 20,000 residents across more than 12,000 properties.
The WWH Group includes the parent organisation and three wholly owned subsidiaries: Enfys Developments, Enfys Homes, and Cambria Maintenance Services. Together, we employ over 600 staff, making us a major Welsh employer.
We take a Systems Thinking approach to how we manage and deliver services across the Group — this underpins everything we do. We're proud to have been voted the 8th best company to work for in Wales and the 6th best housing organisation to work for in the UK by Best Companies in 2024. We're also the first organisation in Wales to achieve Platinum status in the Investors in People Standard.
Are we right for you?
We're an organisation that cares deeply about the service we provide to our residents and the wellbeing of our staff. We trust, support, and empower our people to deliver the very best service, with our values at the heart of everything we do.
