Salary: £32,000 – £34,900

Hours: Full Time

About the Role

Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people? We're looking for a Senior Therapeutic Support Worker to join our passionate, dedicated team caring for young people aged 10–17 years.

This is more than just a job – it's an opportunity to create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic home environment where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. You'll take a lead role in daily care, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring each young person's care plan is delivered with compassion, consistency, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

If you love seeing young people overcome challenges, build resilience, and grow into their potential, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic, child-centred care that nurtures emotional, social, and physical wellbeing.
  • Lead and inspire a team of Residential Support Workers during shifts.
  • Act as a keyworker, supporting young people's individual care plans, therapeutic goals, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain a warm, homely environment that encourages positive relationships and daily routines.
  • Support household activities including cooking, shopping, and organising meaningful, development-focused activities.
  • Build strong partnerships with families, social workers, and external professionals to support therapeutic outcomes.
  • Use de-escalation and behaviour management techniques in line with therapeutic practice.
  • Champion safeguarding, equality, and diversity in all aspects of care.
  • Participate in training, supervision, and on-call support.
  • Encourage education, life skills, and recreational opportunities that help young people reach their potential.

About You

We're looking for someone who is passionate about empowering young people through therapeutic care and can bring:

  • Previous experience in a residential childcare or therapeutic setting (essential).
  • Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or working towards it (essential).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
  • The ability to stay calm and resilient under pressure.
  • Empathy, flexibility, and an unwavering commitment to safeguarding.
  • A full UK driving licence (preferred).

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary with enhancements and clear career progression opportunities.
  • Comprehensive induction and ongoing professional development.
  • A supportive, inclusive team culture that celebrates your successes.
  • Access to qualifications and training in residential childcare and therapeutic practice.
  • Wellbeing initiatives, recognition, and a workplace that genuinely values you.
