Senior Children's Residential Support Worker

Location: Hucknall, Nottingham

Salary: £ 28,500 – 32,000 per annum Pro Rata (depending on experience and qualifications)

Hours: Full-time, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins on a rota basis

Contract: Permanent

The Role

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in leading a dedicated team to deliver exceptional, child-focused care. You'll act as a role model and mentor for staff, promoting a positive and therapeutic environment where children feel safe, respected, and empowered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the care team in delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care to children and young people.
  • Oversee daily routines, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
  • Support with care planning, key working, and recording accurate documentation.
  • Ensure all practice aligns with Ofsted regulations, the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, and the Quality Standards.
  • Take responsibility for the home in the absence of senior management.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and mentoring to Residential Support Workers.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children and young people.

About You

  • Hold a Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) Or currently working towards it.
  • Have experience working in a children's residential setting, ideally at a senior or shift leader level.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and child development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Flexible, resilient, and passionate about supporting children to achieve positive outcomes.
  • A Full UK driving licence is highly desirable.
