Job Title:

Sub-contract Manager - Outside Processing

Reporting To:

Director, Regional Supply Chain

Work Schedule:

Hybrid – Tewkesbury, GBR

Moog Commercial Aircraft Group in Tewkesbury is seeking a Subcontract Manager — Outside Processing (OSP) to lead supplier management for the OSP commodity and act as the primary interface between Moog, Tier‑1 partners and OSP suppliers. The role is responsible for defining, integrating and program‑managing supply‑chain requirements for assigned suppliers and programs to deliver cost, quality, schedule and compliance outcomes. The position requires approximately 25–50% travel, primarily within the UK and occasionally elsewhere in Europe, and flexibility in working hours to support global teams across multiple time zones.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage multiple subcontracts and strategic supplier agreements to meet internal and external customer requirements, using program/project management tools to control risk, cost, schedule, technical performance, quality and approvals.
  • Lead cost optimization for the OSP order book in Europe, including batch‑size optimization, reduction of expedite fees and other cost‑to‑serve initiatives.
  • Support source selection and develop/execute subcontract management plans for complex development and production requirements.
  • Build and maintain strategic, collaborative relationships with key OSP supplier partners to ensure aligned, customer‑focused delivery across Moog sites.
  • Monitor and assess supplier performance across the end‑to‑end value stream (line of balance, sub‑tier management, capacity and capability). Produce timely performance reports and escalate trends to senior leadership and program teams using standard supply‑chain metrics.
  • Provide subcontract management subject‑matter expertise and collaborate closely with Supply Chain and cross‑functional partners (e.g., Strategic Sourcing, Quality, Engineering, Regulatory).
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives, including joint supplier improvement projects.
  • Support Strategic Sourcing by contributing to Subcontractor Statements of Work, evaluating proposals and performing cost/pricing analysis.
  • Act as escalation point for Tier‑1 suppliers when they encounter issues with Moog‑approved OSPs.
  • Lead negotiations for changes to subcontract requirements and maintain all required contractual records.
  • Ensure subcontract compliance with company policies and applicable regulations (e.g., REACH, AEO, Technical Assistance Agreements, Manufacturing License Agreements, EAR, ITAR, UK military regulations where applicable).
  • Manage onboarding of new OSPs in Europe to support business needs.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • 10+ years' experience managing programs or complex contracts, with demonstrated supplier management responsibilities.
  • Strong business acumen and proven ability to engage and influence cross‑functional stakeholders to identify, mitigate and resolve supply‑chain issues.
  • Experience in cost management, contract negotiation, and performance reporting.
  • Practical knowledge of problem solving, continuous improvement and lean principles is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in multicultural and geographically dispersed environments.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with procurement‑related contractual and legal requirements preferred.
  • Full driving license
