Senior Buyer

COMPANY STRUCTURE

• Reports to Head of Procurement, Finance Director and Board Directors.
• Part of Central Buying Department; coordinates purchasing, liaises with Buyers, accounts and management, reporting initially to the Commercial and Financial Director.
• Oversees Central Buying Department and procurement of all Maintenance and Projects materials.
• Works closely with Commercial and Accounts Teams to secure best value and ensure timely, budget-compliant procurement.

SCOPE

• Ensures smooth procurement operations with strong communication, negotiation, market and material knowledge.
• Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects under pressure.

KNOWLEDGE

• Procurement Degree/Diploma (Essential).
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Technical understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Domestic components.
• Current CSCS/ECS card.

• Flexible travel across locations; occasional agreed out-of-hours work.
• Work pattern: 3 days in Perivale, 2 days in Dock Street, London (other sites as needed).

DUTIES

• Research and onboard suppliers.
• Lead procurement for Projects and Maintenance.
• Issue purchase orders; support Buyers.
• Negotiate pricing and terms.
• Maintain purchase records; liaise with finance on invoices.
• Resolve supplier issues; maintain reliable supplier relationships.
• Ensure materials meet delivery times and specifications.
• Identify process and cost improvements.
• Support project teams with IMS and QSHE requirements.
• Ensure compliance with electrical accreditations.
• Audit practices and improve compliance, including electrical safe systems and IMS documentation.
• Promote compliance, health, safety and welfare; uphold company values.
• Source materials aligned with specifications, drawings and commercial requirements.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
