In this role, you will provide general HR support, lead the recruitment process, maintain personnel records and assist with budged management and other general administrative duties. This role will be for 1-3 months and potentially longer. The rate of pay will be £16.92 p/h + holiday pay
Duties:
- Provide general HR support to the Bursar, manage HR data using PeopleXD, handle staff and student HR enquiries, and explain policies and procedures clearly.
- Lead and coordinate the recruitment process, including drafting job descriptions, placing advertisements, managing shortlisting and interviews, issuing contracts, and onboarding new staff.
- Maintain accurate personnel records, monitor leave and training compliance, and serve as the first point of contact for casual workers.
- Administer processes related to staff probation and contract endings, including correspondence and system updates.
- Provide secretarial support for College committees, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and managing mailing lists.
- Assist with office budget management, order supplies, and provide general administrative support including meeting coordination.
Selection criteria:
- Experience of, or a demonstrable strong capacity for, Human Resources work.
- Experience of using the PeopleXD system
- The ability to understand and advise on Human Resources issues and to contribute to policy discussions and decisions.
- Accuracy and attention to detail, especially in presenting written information.
- Numerical skills to check annual leave and pay calculations.
- Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and some internet experience).
- Effective interpersonal skills at all levels, with the demonstrable ability to express orally and in writing concepts and procedures to those unfamiliar with the issues.
- Tact and the utmost discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
