35 hours per week Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm (flexible working and some evening and weekend working may be required as agreed with management). For the right candidate there is an option to work four days per week, with a reduction to 28 hours per week.

Fixed Term: 2 year contract with the possibility of an extension [funding dependent]

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Digital Inclusion Worker to support individuals in accessing and utilising digital technology effectively. This role involves assisting people in developing digital skills to enhance their independence and quality of life. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a commitment to promoting digital literacy within diverse communities. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by bridging the digital divide and empowering individuals through technology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised support to people in learning how to use digital devices such as tablets, smartphones, and computers.
  • Assist clients with setting up devices, installing applications, and troubleshooting basic technical issues.
  • Develop tailored digital inclusion plans based on individual needs and abilities.
  • Offer guidance on online safety, privacy, and responsible internet usage.
  • Support clients with accessing essential online services such as healthcare portals, banking, and social media platforms.
  • Organise group workshops or one-on-one training sessions to improve digital literacy skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and session outcomes.
  • Promote awareness of digital inclusion programmes within the community and collaborate with local organisations.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL

  • Experience in delivering digital Inclusion and training to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of digital tools and technologies, including proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to the vision, mission and values of CDT.

DESIRABLE

  • Familiarity with welfare Inclusion systems and community resources.
  • Experience in integrating digital technologies into community programmes.
  • Understanding of digital inclusion principles and best practices.
  • Experience working with volunteers and community organisations.
  • Experience using creative technologies, e.g. VR Headsets, 3D printers.
