We are seeking an experienced, motivated and results driven person to lead on our health and safety and safety of sports grounds obligations. You will possess an extensive knowledge of the relevant legislation and associated codes of practice and will ensure that the council undertakes and meets all relevant statutory obligations in the areas of Health and Safety and Safety at Sports Grounds.
We offer flexible/ hybrid working subject to the demands of service delivery.
You will be responsible for:
Enforcing the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and any associated regulations and codes of practice as may be appropriate.
Lead on all statutory duties under the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975(as amended); conduct annual inspections, during performance inspections, convene Safety Advisory Group meetings (SAGs) and emergency SAGs if there are public safety concerns relating to large crowds and movement.
- Take enforcement action where appropriate including preparing and issuing formal notices, statutory letters and documents and gathering and presenting evidence in court.
- Liaise with stakeholders both internal and external, provide professional advice, support and advice to senior management and attend internal and external meetings as necessary.

Additional informationYour starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
