Fund Accountant | 9-12 Month FTC | London | Investment Management | £60-65k base | 3 days a week in the office

Overview

A leading fund manager is seeking an experienced Fund Accountant to join the team on a 9–12 month contract. This role will support the finance function during a period of increased transactional activity and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong fund accounting experience within private markets-ideally infrastructure, private equity, or real assets.

Key Responsibilities

Fund Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for investment funds under UK GAAP / IFRS.
  • Support NAV calculations, capital account statements, and investor reporting packs.
  • Review and liaise with third-party administrators to ensure accuracy of fund accounting records.

Portfolio & Transaction Support

  • Work closely with the investment team on new acquisitions, disposals, and valuations.
  • Assist with performance metrics, carry/waterfall calculations, and portfolio analytics.
  • Support audit processes and manage external auditors during the year-end cycle.

Internal Controls & Processes

  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to process improvements across reporting and fund operations.

Maintain accurate documentation and support ad-hoc project work as required.

Background:

  • An accounting qualification is advantageous but can be qualified by experience
  • Experience in fund accounting within infrastructure, private equity, real assets, or broader private markets.
  • Can be from an in house role or fund administrator
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS/UK GAAP.
  • Excellent Excel skills and ability to analyse complex data.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to work collaboratively across investment, finance, and operations teams.
