Role: Assistant Management Accountant

Location: Motherwell/Hybrid

Reports to: Financial Controller

Hours: 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Flexibility required

WHO WE ARE:

Oilfast are the fastest growing and one of the largest fuel distributors in Scotland. In 12 years, we have grown to a level where we have 10 depots across the UK (mostly in Scotland) and a large fleet of tankers and flatbeds delivering diesel, gas oil, home heating oil, lubricants, AdBlue, gas bottles and fuel tanks out of those depots to a range of agricultural, commercial and domestic customers.

We also have a fast-growing fuel card division, Fleetmaxx Solutions, allowing our customers to draw fuel from a vast network of sites across the country. Our fuel card offices opened in 2019 and our teams market a wide range of fleet management tools alongside fuel cards such as telematics, insurance, and telecoms to businesses across the UK.

We are a very ambitious company with a great team full of experience and enthusiasm and are looking for a like-minded individual to join our finance team.

ROLE SUMMARY: We have an opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join us on a full time, permanent basis. This role reports to the Financial Controller. We understand how important work life balance has become and for this reason our finance team are based 3 days at our Head Office in Motherwell and 2 days from home. There would also be the opportunity to work from our Falkirk office if this was of benefit to any potential candidates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Updating & maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register
  • Performing margin analysis & review for sales of lubricants and related products
  • Reconciliation of lubricant stock
  • Processing general ledger transactions, including accruals and prepayments
  • Assist with other Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Provide support to Purchase Ledger function
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Intercompany balance sheet reconciliations
  • Credit card postings
  • Calculation of supplier commission/rebates
  • Other Ad hoc duties that may arise

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent MS Office skills, in particular MS Excel with an aptitude for analysis.
  • Adaptable, personable, and an excellent communicator both written and verbally.
  • Able to cope with peak workloads when required.
  • Strong work ethic and maintain high standards.
  • Demonstrating experience in accounting systems and general accounting.
  • At least 2 years' experience within a finance department performing similar duties
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
