Sanctions Specialist – Insurance Sector

We're recruiting a
Sanctions Specialist
to join an experienced an advisory Financial Crime Team at an Insurance and Specialty broker. This is a
sanctions advisory
role,
not a screening position
and
insurance sector experience is essential
. Candidates
without insurance experience cannot be considered
.

You will provide expert
sanctions advice
, support business stakeholders, and contribute to key sanctions projects across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver
    sanctions advisory guidance
    across UK business areas, with a focus on complex insurance-related scenarios.
  • Manage sanctions referrals, escalations and business enquiries.
  • Develop subject matter expertise and draft clear internal/external reports.
  • Support the maintenance and rollout of sanctions policies, procedures and related controls.
  • Stay current on sanctions developments and help embed regulatory changes.
  • Contribute to sanctions projects, workstreams and training initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong sanctions advisory experience
  • Mandatory:
    Prior experience within the
    insurance sector
    (reinsurance, broking, P&C, or similar).
  • Ability to interpret sanctions legislation and apply it in a practical business context.
  • Confident stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
  • Proactive, detail-focused and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience delivering training is an advantage.
