Sanctions Specialist – Insurance Sector
We're recruiting a
Sanctions Specialist
to join an experienced an advisory Financial Crime Team at an Insurance and Specialty broker. This is a
sanctions advisory
role,
not a screening position
and
insurance sector experience is essential
. Candidates
without insurance experience cannot be considered
.
You will provide expert
sanctions advice
, support business stakeholders, and contribute to key sanctions projects across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver
sanctions advisory guidance
across UK business areas, with a focus on complex insurance-related scenarios. - Manage sanctions referrals, escalations and business enquiries.
- Develop subject matter expertise and draft clear internal/external reports.
- Support the maintenance and rollout of sanctions policies, procedures and related controls.
- Stay current on sanctions developments and help embed regulatory changes.
- Contribute to sanctions projects, workstreams and training initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Strong sanctions advisory experience
- Mandatory:
Prior experience within the
insurance sector
(reinsurance, broking, P&C, or similar). - Ability to interpret sanctions legislation and apply it in a practical business context.
- Confident stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
- Proactive, detail-focused and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience delivering training is an advantage.
