Purpose of the Role:

To maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe environment throughout the building.

A key part of this role includes heavy drying work, laundry handling, and frequent cleaning of equipment and surfaces.

Key Responsibilities Cleaning Duties:

  • Clean and sanitise all general areas, including:
  • Offices
  • Meeting rooms
  • Reception areas
  • Corridors
  • Staff rooms
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain all flooring.
  • Dust and wipe all surfaces, desks, ledges, and high-touch points.
  • Empty all bins and dispose of waste safely.

Drying & Laundry Responsibilities (Major Part of the Role):

  • Carry out high-volume drying tasks, including:
  • Towels
  • Cloths
  • Uniforms
  • Work materials
  • Operate washing machines and dryers safely and effectively.
  • Fold, organise, and store all laundered items correctly.
  • Maintain the laundry room in a clean, tidy, and organised condition.

Deep Cleaning Duties:

  • Deep clean equipment, furniture, and high-use areas.
  • Clean walls, windowsills, doors, and skirting boards.
  • Disinfect shared equipment and tools.
  • Clean kitchens, appliances (microwaves, fridge handles), and communal spaces.

Restroom & Facilities Cleaning:

  • Clean and sanitise toilets, sinks, mirrors, and cubicles.
  • Restock soap, paper towels, toilet rolls, and other consumables.
  • Report any hazards, leakages, or damages immediately.

General Building Support:

  • Assist with moving items, organising storage areas, and keeping the building tidy.
  • Support with cleaning after events, meetings, or busy periods.
  • Ensure outdoor entry areas and entrances remain clean and presentable.

Health & Safety:

  • Follow all cleaning guidelines and COSHH regulations.
  • Use chemicals safely and store them correctly.
  • Wear PPE as required.
  • Report hazards, faults, or health and safety concerns promptly.

Skills & Qualities Required:

  • Experience in commercial or industrial cleaning preferred.
  • Ability to manage large amounts of drying and laundry daily.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
  • Reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and hard-working.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move cleaning equipment and laundry bags.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Comfortable with repetitive tasks and working in active environments.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From £12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
