Description

Practice Consultant - Occupational Therapist 9080 | Permanent contract | £21,911 to £24,113 per annum (Scale K) | 18.5 hours per week | Greyfriars House, Great Yarmouth

We offer a £2000 welcome payment for qualified and experienced Social Workers/Occupational Therapists (grade J and above), Practice Consultants and Team Managers new to Norfolk County Council. Amount to be repaid in full should they leave within two years of employment.

Who Cares? We do.

Occupational Therapists in Adult Social Care work in teams across many areas and services, making a major contribution to the service overall. We focus on what matters most to the people we support. We actively listen, problem-solve creatively, and help people enhance their independence and wellbeing.

The Role

It is a great time to join the Occupational Therapy Adult Social Care Team at Norfolk County Council. We are embracing bold change across Norfolk and are looking for forward-thinking professionals to be part of our journey.

We are seeking a Practice Consultant Occupational Therapist who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred Occupational Therapy interventions within the Older People and Physical Disabilities team (East Place). In this role, you will provide supervision, case consultation and case management, support and inspire team development under the guidance of the Occupational Therapy Operational Manager.

Our Occupational Therapy service sits at the heart of delivering the Care Act's vision. We focus on strength-based practice through functional assessments, equipment provision, and moving and handling to prevent, reduce, or delay the need for formal care services. You will be working closely with District Councils to deliver housing adaptations for our residents and collaborate with Social Work colleagues to co-ordinate and support the Occupational Therapy team, ensuring an integrated place-based approach.

You will be eager to work creatively and drive innovation in how Occupational Therapists deliver interventions, with a focus on providing an efficient, effective and value-for-money service. They will embrace data-driven practice, using evidence and performance metrics to demonstrate productivity, outcomes, and service impact for our residents in Norfolk.

What we offer

At Norfolk County Council we are committed to our employees' learning and development.  We offer all Social Workers and Occupational Therapists a protected half day per month for continuing professional development and training.

We want our people to be inspired and motivated to work well together, make the most of our workspaces, enjoy a healthy work-life balance, and deliver excellent services to Norfolk and its people. Flexibility is built into the way we work, with hybrid working a key feature for many roles. Our technology platform and equipment are first class, enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We ask that you have in place good Broadband connectivity.

We operate a talent pool scheme whereby candidates who are not successful on this occasion may be considered for a period of up to 3 months for equal positions.

You can also find out about the rewards and benefits we offer as well as our other terms and conditions.

Parts of both Norfolk and Suffolk combine to make up this locality. Large swathes of the Broads National Park run from north to south, with windmills dotting the skyline and huge beaches forming the coastline, including the seaside towns of Hemsby, Caister-on-Sea and Southwold. Inland, Beccles and Bungay are beautiful historic market towns.

The largest Norfolk town in this locality is the popular seaside resort, market town and maritime port of Great Yarmouth, 21 miles east of Norwich and easily accessible by road or rail. Lowestoft in Suffolk is the most easterly town in England, 28 miles from Norwich. It is also a seaside resort, market town and maritime port with direct rail access to Norwich and also to London via Ipswich.
