TheConsultant Lead for Psychology & Psychological Therapiesoffers a great opportunity to lead the development and implementation of psychological pathways as part of the community transformation and severe mental illness agendas in primary care networks and community mental health teams.

In Great Yarmouth and Waveney Care Group, we believe that psychological leadership is essential to develop compassionate and effective services that encompass the principles of being holistic and person centred.

As the post holder, you will lead in developing and implementing psychological pathways across all community services ranging from primary care networks to secondary mental health services.

You will work closely with the lead consultant applied psychologist and the care group.

You will lead on the strategic development of pathways for service users with severe mental illness and will lead the emotional complex needs pathway in order to maximise the offer for psychologically informed practice and psychological treatments.

You will provide clinical leadership across all working age community services.

The post holder will take delegated responsibility for the recruitment, selection and retention of psychological professionals and participate in recruitment processes for other staff. In addition, the post holder will contribute to the investigations of complaints, grievances, capability and disciplinary procedures as required by senior managers.

You will lead on improving access to psychological assessment, formulation and a range of brief evidence based psychological interventions (individual, family and group) as required in the community adult mental health pathways to increase treatment choice, effectiveness and collaborative care.

The post holder will hold a clinical caseload and will provide psychological interventions in community services.

The post holder will supervise the psychological professionals in community services, and/or line manage as appropriate, including psychological professionals in training.

The post holder will lead on developing a training strategy across the community services and deliver training to staff in order to establish and promote a stepped care model of psychological care and to embed psychological care in MDT work.

We have strong links with the local university both for teachings and for supervision of doctoral trainees, and other psychological professions. We welcome innovation and we are keen to support quality improvement and research projects.
