Job Overview:

Are you an organised and proactive individual with a flair for building strong supplier relationships? We're looking for a Purchasing Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and services into the business, supporting supply chain activities, and driving cost efficiency.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Build and maintain positive, long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Research potential new suppliers and make recommendations to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Raise, place, and track purchase orders from start to finish.
  • Ensure delivery deadlines are met and orders are accurate.
  • Keep internal systems up to date with orders, deliveries, invoices, and contracts.
  • Monitor inventory, including planning and participating in stock takes.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and terms.
  • Resolve order and payment discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with Goods In/Out to handle queries.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes.
  • Visit suppliers and maintain the Approved Supplier List and related documentation.
  • Support the creation of standard purchasing procedures and workflows.
  • Assist with raw material and subcontract planning.
  • Provide administrative support to other departments when required.

Hours Of Work:

20 hours per week

Please note: This role requires your physical presence during all working hours. Remote work is not available.

Experience & Qualifications:

Previous experience within a administration or purchasing role (essential)

PC literate i.e Microsoft office (essential)

MRP systems (essential)

Purchasing/procurement knowledge (essential)

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (desired)

CIPS level 3 or working towards it (desired)
