Cheybassa Lodge is a small residential/dementia home located in Hayling Island. We are currently looking for a reliable, compassionate Senior Care Assistant.

Your duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead care home shifts and provide direction to carers in line with CQC regulations
  • Demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of CQC essential standards and all legislation relevant to a care home
  • Manage residents' activities
  • · Monitor and ensure resident Activities are being performed daily by carers as per the agenda
  • Actively encourage the social welfare and well-being of residents, contribute to the development of new ideas in residential care
  • Facilitate a structured, safe, harmonious and caring environment in the home that fosters the physical and emotional well-being of the residents and staff; the emphasis should be placed on team building and individual growth and respect for all.
  • Make a difference in the lives of older people ensuring that residents are encouraged and supported to maintain independence and choice in a homely way
  • Be courteous and respectful and all times to residents and relatives and retain the confidentiality of residents and their families at all times.
  • Be responsible for daily medication administration and maintenance process when DM is absent
  • Complete stock checks and daily medication audits
  • Support with weekly and monthly audits
  • Monitor and log the medication fridge temperature daily
  • Liaise with pharmacy and GPs regarding any medication issues.
  • Ensure complete accuracy and safeguarding in the medication administration and process.
  • Report any issues, errors, or omissions directly to RM
  • · Sign in medication when RM are absent
  • On Call duties

Person Specification

  • The successful applicant will have or will be willing to work towards NVQ level 3
  • Supervisory experience is preferred but not essential
  • Medication Administration experience
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload, delegate tasks and work under pressure.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour
