This is an exciting opportunity to work night shifts for an 18 bed residential EMI care home on Hayling Island. Both full-time and part-time positions available.

The Carer will be accountable to the management team and will be responsible for the physical and psychological well being of the Residents. The individual will be expected to provide and develop a warm and sensitive caring environment for the Residents.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**:

- Genuine interest in elderly people and their well-being.
- Self-motivated.
- Good time management skills and the ability to multi task.
- Calm and positive attitude.
- Ability to adapt to the systems already in place.
- A commitment to continual personal development.
- Previous experience in caring for the needs of the elderly would be an advantage, but is not essential as training will be given.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:

- Provide wakeful night duty cover in the home.
- Carry out regular checks around the home at intervals determined by management and with due regard for the Residents privacy.
- Carry out regular checks on the building with special reference to fire protection.
- Assist the Residents in preparing for bed and rising in the morning.
- Working with the Manager and Head of Care to follow all Standards and Regulations.
- Understand and assist in any emotional and personality differences that may arise among the Residents.
- Support the Residents in maintaining an acceptable standard of personal hygiene and appearance, assisting with dressing, toileting, bathing and feeding where necessary, in a sensitive and dignified way.
- Promote an environment which provides for the care, emotional and physical well-being of the Residents.
- Ensure record keeping is done when required.
- Attend and participate in Team Meetings.
- Administration of medications as prescribed by the GP.
- Updating MARR sheets.
- Proactively look for modes of working that promotes the individual and group in being as independent as possible, learning new skills, interests and hobbies.
- Make and change beds, tidy rooms and do light cleaning.
- Answer emergency bells, the door and the telephone, greet visitors.
- Efficient and economic usage of all products and consumables used within the home.
- Completion of all Resident and statutory documentation, rotas, arranging appointments if required
- Care of Residents clothing and personal property.
- To undertake certain domestic duties that can be performed during the night hours.
- Reporting defects in equipment and all unusual incidents to the Registered Manager.
- Participate in the assessment, review and recording of the needs of each Resident.
- Assist if required in leisure activities and outings.
- Assist Residents in casual shopping, selection of clothing, escort duties to hospital etc.
- Other duties as specified by the management.

**All you need is the following**:
A current up to date DBS but if this is not available we can assist with this

Care experience preferred but if this not available, full training will be provided

Pay: £138.00-£141.00 per day
