Role Summary

Wales Netball and Dragons are entering an exciting phase of growth with expanding competition opportunities, increased visibility of elite netball in Wales, and a stronger commercial footprint. This role sits at the heart of that development.

The Events & Partnerships Lead will drive the delivery of high-quality events and ensure our commercial partners, stakeholders and supporters are meaningfully engaged with our sport. They will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of major events across Wales Netball (international test series) and Dragons (league matchdays and fan activations), creating memorable experiences for fans and stakeholders, while driving real commercial value.

A natural relationship-builder, the postholder will be responsible for ensuring excellent service and activation for existing partners while also contributing to the growth of new commercial opportunities. The role requires a confident organiser who thrives in fast-paced environments, can build strong operational plans, and delivers consistently to a high standard.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

Partnership Engagement & Activation

  • Lead partnership delivery across Wales Netball and Dragons, ensuring contractual rights are delivered and value is maximised.
  • Manage day-to-day partner relationships, acting as the key point of contact.
  • Plan and execute partner activations that enhance fan experience and brand reach.
  • Support commercial growth by contributing to partnership proposals and pitches.
  • Work collaboratively with the person responsible for Marketing to amplify partnership and athlete visibility

Event Leadership

  • Lead planning, operational delivery and reporting for:
  • Wales Feathers home and away test series
  • Dragons home and away fixtures and fan engagement activations
  • Strategic events that support recognition programmes
  • Corporate, partner and community engagement events
  • Manage relationships with venues, broadcast partners and suppliers to ensure smooth and professional delivery
  • Oversee ticketing allocations including hospitality, VIPs and stakeholder servicing
  • Lead on delivery budgets and ensure all events comply with regulatory, health & safety and safeguarding standards

Commercial Growth & Insight

  • Contribute to commercial revenue streams including hospitality, sponsorship, ticketing and fan engagement
  • Provide clear reporting and commercial insights post-event and post-activation to demonstrate impact and inform future improvements
  • Identify and manage innovative opportunities to enhance fan and partner experience

Cross-Organisation Collaboration

  • Work effectively across departments (Performance, Participation, Business)
  • Represent the Commercial department in event planning and internal cross-functional working groups
  • Maintain and champion a culture of professionalism, respect, inclusion and customer-focused delivery
  • Leading community engagement events with the Community Development roles

Additional

  • Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the Line Manager and CEO.
  • Proactively comply with and promote all organisation policies, in particular those relating to Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity, Mental Health and Data Protection.

Terms of Appointment

Role: Full Time, Permanent Contract

Renumeration: £29,000 per annum

Annual Leave: 22 days per year plus bank holidays

Based: Cardiff Office with work from home flexibility. Travel required for competitions & events.

Reporting to: CEO
