Cardiff, United Kingdom Admiral Full time

Cardiff

Who are Admiral Pioneer?

Disruptive. Customer Centered. Transformational.

Admiral Pioneer exists within Admiral Group as a venture studio, providing the greenhouse in which to grow new businesses. We’re leveraging Admiral’s strengths to deliver commercially strong businesses that answer the financial needs of new audiences and respond to emerging opportunities.

We seek to disrupt the markets we enter, taking a truly customer-centric approach. We achieve this by experimenting and proving new products, business models and partnerships through a disciplined, discovery-driven approach.

About the role:
Ready to shape culture, spark connection, and bring the Pioneer story to life?
We’re on the hunt for a dynamic Communications & Events Lead to join Admiral Pioneer — someone who’s equal parts storyteller, strategist, and experience-maker.

Reporting to the Head of People, you’ll be the heartbeat of our internal and external communications, crafting compelling narratives and unforgettable events that connect, inspire, and energise our people. You’ll work closely with our Leadership Team to build a consistent, vibrant communications framework and lead a calendar of events that celebrates our culture — from All Hands updates to beach volleyball days and legendary Christmas parties.

You’ll also lead and develop our brilliant Culture, Media & Events Coordinator, ensuring every piece of visual media, every office moment, and every engagement activity is delivered with flair and purpose.

What You’ll Be Doing:

- Shape the voice of Pioneer: Partner with our CEO, Head of People, and Leadership Team to build and deliver a bold, cohesive communications strategy that reflects our brand, amplifies our culture, and keeps our people connected, informed, and inspired.
- Make messages matter: Deliver the right message, to the right people, at the right time — using creative formats and channels that cut through the noise and spark engagement.
- Bridge the Pioneer-Admiral connection: Collaborate with our UK Comms team to align with Admiral’s wider strategy, ensuring Pioneer’s voice is heard and our people feel part of something bigger.
- Showcase our story: Bring Pioneer to life across the Admiral Group and beyond — through internal updates, LinkedIn content, and standout events that highlight our people, purpose, and progress.
- Own our external presence: Lead Pioneer’s external communications across LinkedIn, our website, and press releases — boosting brand recognition and building a strong employer brand in the markets we operate.
- Build a brand with soul: Support our CEO and Leadership Team in shaping Pioneer’s identity — from tone of voice to purpose and values — creating a brand that feels authentic, aspirational, and alive.
- Create unforgettable experiences: Lead the planning and delivery of events that bring our people together — from quarterly All Hands to Veygo socials, townhalls, and partner events that energise and connect.
- Design a space that works: Collaborate with Facilities to ensure our office is more than just a workspace — it’s a hub of creativity, collaboration, and culture. Regularly gather feedback to keep improving.
- Welcome with warmth: Own the onboarding experience through PioneerFest — making sure every new starter feels informed, inspired, and instantly part of the team.
- Champion community impact: Drive our approach to Admiral Group’s community strategy — creating opportunities for colleagues to use their Impact Hours in meaningful ways.
- Tune into the heartbeat of Pioneer: Create and champion feedback loops that give our colleagues a voice — from pulse checks to our annual engagement survey — and turn insights into action that drives real change.
- Make impact measurable: Track the success of our communications and engagement efforts, using data to refine, evolve, and amplify what works — always striving for better.
- Juggle with finesse: Manage multiple projects and stakeholders with confidence and clarity, keeping priorities sharp and momentum strong
- Be a culture curator: Build deep relationships across the business to truly understand what makes Pioneer tick — then use that insight to spark initiatives that bring our values to life and foster an inclusive, energising environment.
- Celebrate what matters: Lead our approach to colleague recognition, making sure achievements are spotlighted and contributions are celebrated in ways that feel meaningful and motivating.
- Drive engagement with purpose: Partner with the comms team and People Team to maximise the impact of our engagement surveys — from encouraging participation to sharing results and shaping strategy based on what we learn.
- Bring the buzz: Be the ambassador of our culture — the spark behind the fun, the energy in the office, and the force that makes Pioneer a place people genuinely love to work. Whether it’s online or in-person, you’ll lead the charge in creating moments that connect and inspire.
