Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Builder to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures in accordance with project specifications and safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, contributing to the realisation of high-quality buildings and infrastructure. The ideal applicant will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Duties

  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and project plans to determine construction requirements.
  • Measure, cut, assemble, and install building materials such as timber, bricks, concrete blocks, and other structural components.
  • Operate hand tools and power equipment safely and efficiently during construction activities.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and organisational standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other tradespeople to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Maintain a clean and organised worksite, disposing of waste materials appropriately.
  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of construction activities to meet deadlines.
  • Conduct quality checks throughout the construction process to ensure high standards are maintained.

Skills

  • Proven experience in building or construction roles is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety procedures.
  • Excellent physical stamina and manual dexterity for handling tools and materials.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and interpret instructions accurately.
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
  • Valid relevant qualifications or certifications (e.g., NVQ in Construction) are advantageous but not essential. Pay: £13.21-£23.73 per hour
