**Hours**: 25 hours per week
**Days**:Monday to Friday - between the hours of 10.00 - 15.00*
Please note, as the nursery grows and the role becomes fully admin, the hours may change
**Experience/Qualifications**:
Admin: Previous experience is desirable but not essential for this role. All abilities can apply.
Practitioner: Early Years qualified status is not necessary however hourly rate will be increased to reflect qualification status

Hopscotch, recently rated as a ‘Top 20 Mid-Size Nursery Group’ by Day Nurseries, have a number of exciting opportunities within our 8 settings: Portswood, Regents Park (Shirley), Eastleigh, Botley, Titchfield, Lee on Solent, Gosport, Fareham. We opened our first setting, Gosport, in 2005 and are proud of what we have achieved across the group so far.

**The Role**
As the Administrator, you will provide an efficient and comprehensive administrative service for the team, responsible for communicating messages, working through the various processes and systems that support the success of Hopscotch. You will be responsible for:
- Managing new registrations, finance, and occupancy in the nursery
- Ordering of resources
- Supporting staff with their admin/printing requirements
- Liaising with parents, managing enquiries to the nursery and answering calls
- Covering in rooms as required
- All required internal administration and external letters for parents

**Job Purpose**
- Provide operational and administrative duties supporting the nursery management teams
- Support the groups marketing activities and individual function of each nursery
- Provide and maintain Head Office administration files in regard to operations, recruitment and policies
- Provide outstanding customer services and support development of parents as partners, developing relationships with children and parents alike.

**Responsibilities**:
**CHILDCARE and EDUCATION**
- Promote and develop strong partnership with parents, carers and family members.
- Remain knowledgeable and up to date with developments in the childcare and education sector
- Work in line with and have a sound awareness of Working Together to Safeguard Children National Statutory Guidance, The HSCP (Hampshire Safeguarding Children’s Partnership) and the Hopscotch Safeguarding Policy and procedures.
- Support the day to day nursery operations as required when legislative ratios need to be maintained.
- Register all new children in line with policies and procedures supporting the settling in process for parents and children.
- Maintain confidential and accurate children, staff and parent records.
**ADMINISTRATION and OPERATIONS SUPPORT**
- Answer the telephone and ensure that messages are promptly delivered.
- Communicating pleasantly and effectively in person, in writing and on the telephone.
- General administration and computer tasks, accurate use of Word and Excel and MS Outlook.
- Competent use of the online filing system and accurate record keeping.
- Be fully conversant with the nursery management software - Abacus. Training will be given.
- Photocopying and filing as required.
- Process monthly orders for stationery and nursery supplies.
- Support the Nursery Management team and Finance Department with the collection of monthly fees and outstanding invoices.
- Welcoming parents, children, and visitors to each setting when onsite and providing hospitality and adhering to the site-specific nursery visitor policies and procedures.
