The Role: Head Chef

Location: Montpeliers, Bruntsfield, Edinburgh

Package: £40K (20% bonus and £8K tronc)

The Opportunity: This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Head Chef or someone looking to move forward in their career to join our vibrant team at Montpeliers in Bruntsfield.

Montpeliers is a bustling restaurant, café & bar. We're known for our brilliant brunch, superb burgers, a large draught beer and gin offering, and generally a brilliant atmosphere and team. Being the go-to Bruntsfield local, we have a lot to live up to, and we do it well. Our regulars have been coming to us for years which makes coming to work feel a little less than work, and more of a home away from home

Responsibilities as Head Chef include:

  • Maintaining & driving consistently high standards of produce.
  • Help in recruitment and training of junior members of staff
  • Daily, weekly stock control & ordering
  • Full control in all areas of kitchen management including all KPI targets such as GP %, wage controls, environmental health issues & menu design

The Ideal Head Chef will:

  • Have experience in a similarly high quality operation
  • Possess a passion, knowledge for food and willingness to learn & grow with the company
  • Be driven and focussed on first class standards across every aspect of the operation
  • Have shown loyalty & longevity throughout their career
  • Have excellent planning & organisational skills
  • Have excellent personal presentation and be consummately professional at all times
  • Have an excellent understanding of financial controls.
  • Leadership, management & positivity.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Self-motivated
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
