Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining exceptional standards of food safety and hygiene. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and food production.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Participate in food preparation and cooking, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
  • Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques and best practices.
  • Maintain a positive working environment that fosters teamwork and hospitality.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant setting.
  • Strong supervisory experience with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Extensive knowledge of food production techniques and culinary skills.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership qualities with a passion for cooking and hospitality.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From £14.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
