Summary

The Finance Assistant will work as part of the UK Finance Team in meeting business requirements primarily through accurate postings and the timely completion of month end reporting. This is a part-time position; the successful candidate can choose to work either 20 hours over 4 days or 24 hours over 5 days.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for credit card holders, assisting with expense queries.
  • Ensure accurate expense allocations to support precise cost reporting.
  • Complete monthly payroll recharges accurately and on time.
  • Build strong relationships and communicate effectively across business areas.
  • Prepare monthly accruals and prepayments for review by the Financial Accounting Manager.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly VAT reconciliations.
  • Produce monthly balance sheet reports and analytical variance analysis.
  • Process monthly asset additions and post depreciation to complete fixed asset reporting.
  • Support the Financial Accounting Manager with year-end audit requirements..

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Minimum GCSE Maths and English at grade C/Level 4 or above. Part-qualified or studying towards CIMA/ACCA qualification desirable.
  • Finance Administration: Previous administrative experience, ideally within a finance environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Experience in analysing data and presenting insights to stakeholders at all levels (via studies or work experience).
  • Technical Proficiency: Proven advanced Excel skills.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Contract length: 10 months

Pay: £13,218.40-£16,000.00 per year
