Teacher of Mathematics

This role is a limited term appointment covering maternity.

About the role

Ready to shape young minds and build confidence in Mathematics? We are looking for a motivated and dedicated teacher to deliver Mathematics across the age and ability range, up to GCSE level.

You will play a key role in supporting students both in and beyond the classroom, working closely with parents and colleagues to ensure positive progress and wellbeing. The post offers opportunities to contribute to curriculum development, extracurricular activities, and form tutoring.

Newly qualified teachers will automatically start on a generous salary of £42,718 per annum (spine point M4).

A competitive salary that increases each 12 months until you reach the salary maximum.

Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, you will be offered two pensions arrangements: the Teachers Superannuation scheme or the Isle of Man Government Defined Contribution (DC) arrangement.

If you are returning to the island and have participated in the Department's Student Loan scheme for tuition fees, the loan will be repaid by the Department upon completion of your second year working as a teacher at one of the island's schools. The repayment is subject to a maximum of £7,500 for a three year degree course or £10,000 for a four year degree course, and the requirements detailed in the Teacher Loan Cancellation Policy.

A subject shortage allowance of up to £500 a month for a maximum of 8 months if you are offered a permanent position in a Maths, English or Science teaching position (without TLR).
