Senior Residential Support Worker – Up to £35,365 Per Year

Experienced Professionals | 2 on, 4 off Rota | Based Near Preston

Location: Chipping, near Preston (easily commutable from Longridge, Clitheroe, Ribchester, Garstang, Fulwood, and Blackburn)

Salary: Up to £35,365 per year

• Base Salary: £31,765 (includes £50 per sleep-in)
• Performance Bonus: Up to £3,600 per year

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Shifts: 2 days on, 4 days off (including paid sleep-ins)

At Theracare Homes, we provide therapeutic residential care to young people aged 8–18 who have experienced trauma, disrupted attachments or complex emotional needs.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to help lead the team in one of our high quality homes near Preston. Your Role as a Senior RSW

You'll work closely with the Home and Deputy Manager to ensure the smooth day to day running of the home, provide emotional and practical care to the young people, and lead shifts with professionalism and empathy.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising and mentoring Residential Support Workers
• Leading shifts and ensuring compliance with care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding protocols
• Supporting the creation and review of behaviour support plans and placement documents
• Managing petty cash and weekly planners
• Attending LAC and PEP meetings and writing accurate, high quality reports
• Liaising with social workers and external professionals
• Role modelling therapeutic parenting and consistent, structured care

What We're Looking For

We're looking for confident, compassionate professionals with a proven track record in children's residential care.

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum of 12 months experience in a children's residential home
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or commitment to complete with support)
• Strong leadership and safeguarding knowledge
• Good written and verbal communication
• Full UK driving licence
• Right to work in the UK and at least 3 years UK residency (required for funded qualifications)
