Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers while preparing and serving a variety of delicious deli products. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve deli items, ensuring freshness and quality at all times
  • Assist customers with their selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations and upselling where appropriate
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, adhering to food safety standards
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including slicers and scales
  • Monitor inventory levels, assisting with stock rotation and replenishment as needed
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, utilising basic math skills for processing payments

Experience

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred
  • Familiarity with food preparation techniques and culinary practices is advantageous
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is essential
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers
