About us

My Day Care Services is a leading provider of day services in Somerset, with provisions across Taunton and Bridgwater, we provide person-centred and meaningful day services for Adults with Learning Disabilities and Autistic people. We have multiple 'micro-teams' and work in small groups or on a 1-2-1 basis. We are a dynamic and forward-thinking team, constantly developing and endeavouring to provide excellent and person-centred care services to adults across Somerset.

About you

This position would suit someone with experience in the Learning Disabilities and Autism care sector, who is looking to move into a day service setting or somebody who wants to take on a new challenge. The best part? No shift or weekend work

About the role

You will work with a range of clients, being part of sessions which take place either within the Hub or in the community. As a Support Worker, you will work within our day services across Taunton and Bridgwater.

You will be responsible for:

· Supporting the Team Leader & Deputy Team Leader in the day to day running of the Hub

· Facilitating physical, recreational, social and educational activities within our Hubs and within the community.

· Providing person-centred care and support to our wide range of clients

· Be involved in daily transport routes, dropping off and picking up students

· Participate in group planning and help develop individual activity plans which focus on person-centred support

· Interpret and put into place clients' support plans

We are looking for someone who:

· Has a 'can do' attitude

· Is a positive thinker with excellent initiative skills

· Is a team player who is motivated and has a good work ethic

· Acts as a role model with good professionalism and communication skills

· Has some basic IT skills using Microsoft 365 products such as Word and Excel.

· Has a person-centred and engaging carer who is passionate about promoting independence and empowering people

· Has great organisation and coordination skills, is able to stay calm and professional in all situations

· Understands basic safeguarding processes

You will need:

· To be able to lone work on occasions

· A full manual UK driving license, held for over two years.

· A confident driver who is willing to drive 9 seat MPV's.

· To be physically fit as this role involves some manual handling, outdoor physical activities including but not limited to swimming, walking, and cycling.

It is desirable, but not essential, that you have experience working with adults with learning disabilities.
