Food Packing Supervisor

We are looking for an enthusiastic food production Supervisor to expand our growing Packing team, to help pack our products ready for delivery.
The role will suit candidates who have worked for a small or medium company and are willing to work in a hands-on varied role, previous Food Industry/Dessert/Bakery experience is essential.
You will have a minimum of one year's experience working in a food production environment, a good work ethic and be a reliable individual. This is a role that involves standing on your feet for much of the day, moving ingredients and equipment around during production, so you will need to have a good level of fitness.
Main duties include (but are not limited to):
- Working within production, finishing or packing our products.
- Leading a team of Operatives to meet production & packing plans.
- Managing a team and the workload based on the weeks orders.
- Not be afraid to step in and support the team with packing as well as leading the team.
- Ordering stock needed for production runs.
- Follow start up and close down procedures, and maintaining a clean working environment throughout the day.
- Adhering to hygiene working practices to ensure the highest possible standards, and all procedures relating to food safety, legality and quality are adhered to.
- Monitor and maintain the quality of the product throughout the process.
- Complete all relevant paperwork fully every time a product is produced
- Ensure correct utilization of manpower and raise concerns in a timely manner with the Senior Supervisor – Production.

You must be
- Resourceful and adaptable
- Willing to change tasks or departments as production requires
- Able to communicate easily with all other staff and able to understand the company written records and documents.
- Able to carry out the tasks that would be reasonably required.
- Minimum one year's food industry experience.
- Comfortable with handling, preparing and baking of food which involves long periods of standing, lifting and carrying as well as other tasks such as cleaning.
About You
- Previous experience of working in a food production environment
- Experience in leading a team with a goal to fulfil the daily packing plan
- Food safety in manufacturing
- HACCP understanding (desirable)
- H&S training (advantage)
- Good level of spoken and written English
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good time management and ability to work to deadlines.
- Liaise with Technical, Warehouse and Production/Planning departments to ensure that smooth operation.
- Responsible for training and guidance of production staff
- Knowledge of food hygiene standards

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £27,000.00 per year
