Social Care Consultant – Residential Childcare
Location: Remote (with travel across the West Midlands)
Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 per year (including performance bonus)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Responsible Individual / Social Care Consultant to provide strategic leadership, oversight, and guidance across multiple children's residential homes in the West Midlands of England.
In this senior leadership role, you will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, promote high-quality care, strengthen safeguarding, and inspire Registered Managers and their teams to deliver exceptional outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards.
- Provide visible leadership, professional mentoring, and support to Registered Managers.
- Oversee safeguarding policies and embed safe, accountable practices across all services.
- Lead homes confidently through Ofsted inspections, aiming for Good or Outstanding outcomes.
- Advise on operational effectiveness, including staffing, budgets, and resource management.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies.
- Champion staff training, professional development, and performance management.
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and child-centred care.
About You:
- Minimum of 3 years' senior leadership or consultancy experience within children's residential care.
- NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent / working towards).
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, Ofsted frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to influence practice and improve outcomes for children.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the North West.
