Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef possibly looking to move into a head chef role The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising kitchen operations, menu planning, ordering, health and hygiene compliance.

Duties

  • Assist in food preparation and cooking, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and presentation requirements
  • Support the supervision of kitchen staff, including trainees and junior team members
  • Help coordinate food production processes to ensure timely service during busy periods
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations
  • Oversee the organisation of ingredients, supplies, and equipment within the kitchen
  • Contribute to menu planning and development alongside the head chef
  • Assist in training new staff members on food safety procedures and cooking techniques
  • Serve dishes to customers when required, maintaining excellent customer service standards
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety regulations
  • Supervising experience or team management skills are highly desirable
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Previous experience in food production, restaurant service, or hospitality is advantageous
