Site Supervisor (Groundworks & Civils) – Part Time

Location: Northants-based with travel to sites up to 2 hours away

Hours: 3 days per week, 10-hour days, working on site and in our office (role is fully in-person)

JW Clark Ltd are seeking a Part Time Site Supervisor for our growing Groundwork & Civils business. Our works are primarily Highways works including S50 Sewer Connections, S278 works etc. But also with a mix of general groundwork on both commercial and domestic sites.

We are a small company with 3-4 jobs on the go at any one time, and have witnessed significant growth over the last year.

JW Clark Ltd is based in Irthlingborough, Northants, and our jobs tend to be within an hour's radius of our base, with some jobs up to 2 hours from our base.

Applicants must have significant experience in the Groundworks & Civils industry and a good working knowledge of NRSWA.

This is a key role for us — you'll be the company's presence on the ground, supporting our office and helping to maintain high standards of safety, quality and customer care.

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision (70% of role)

  • Visit multiple live sites daily to check progress, quality and safety.
  • Ensure teams have clear instructions and the right resources.
  • Ordering materials & removal of waste etc - Everything that our teams need to keep the projects moving
  • Liasing with Transport and Plant Manager regards plant required, and any issues with vehicles and plant.
  • Type up site reports on every visit, for uploading to our office.
  • Identify issues early and report back to the Groundwork Project Manager and Company Director.
  • Keep jobs on programme and assist with budget tracking.
  • Ensure H&S measures are followed.

Customer & Resident Liaison

  • Handle customers' questions and concerns professionally.
  • Deal with all customer & public complaints politely and professionally, with sympathy towards those affected by our Highways works
  • Carry out letter drops and speak with affected residents in advance of highways works starting.

Planning & Office Support (30%)

  • Assist with pre-start planning and site preparation.
  • Produce method statements and basic RAMS for up-and-coming jobs.
  • Order materials and plant as required.
  • Debrief with the Project Manager on job status, issues and next steps.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong groundworks or civils background.
  • Experience supervising small teams on multiple small jobs.
  • Confidence dealing with customers and residents.
  • Good understanding of site safety.
  • Organised, proactive and able to work independently.
  • Full UK driving licence.

SMSTS/SSSTS & NRSWA are helpful but not essential. We'd rather the experience than a list of qualifications.
