London, Greater London, United Kingdom Flagstone Group Full time £50,000 - £80,000 per year

What is Flagstone?

Flagstone is many things. An online savings platform, reinventing how individuals, businesses, and charities manage, protect, and grow their cash. A diverse group of people, bound by a collaborative spirit, and shared purpose. And lastly, a thriving, profitable business – where smart people do their best work.

Each definition shares a common thread: our unique culture. It's our pride and joy. And our competitive advantage.

A feel for our culture:

To revolutionise the savings market, we need to be at our best. But high performance takes more than talent – it takes a culture of kindness, respect, and growth.

That's why we're building a diverse, inclusive community, where your voice is heard and valued. Where, with close support and room to develop, you can surpass even your own expectations. And be rewarded for it.

We may not change the world, but we can change the world of financial technology. And all it takes is a winning mix of drive, talent, and empathy. Our culture celebrates all three.

But enough about us. Let's talk about you.

Does this sound like you?

You're a collaborative team player who's happy to roll up your sleeves and support others, knowing that no one is bigger than the team. You're hungry to learn, curious, and comfortable experimenting, never afraid of failing fast to succeed faster. You take initiative in a positive and collaborative way, and you communicate clearly, whether sharing technical ideas with peers or explaining concepts to non technical colleagues.

What you'll do

  • Contribute to the design, development and maintenance of high-quality systems that support Flagstone's business objective
  • Learn how our systems are architected and be able to explain the "how and why" behind technical decisions as your understanding grows
  • Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other teams to solve business challenges with technology
  • Write clean, maintainable code, supported by testing and good development practices
  • Take part in code reviews, learning from feedback and contributing your own ideas
  • Collaborate within your squad to deliver features from design through to deployment
  • Develop your skills through hands on work, mentorship, and training opportunities, with a clear pathway to grow your engineering career

What you'll bring

Below is what we typically look for when hiring for our engineering teams. At the associate level, what matters most is your ability to write code, your eagerness to learn, and your curiosity to solve problems. We don't expect you to have experience with everything listed, but exposure to some of these areas would be advantageous. Most importantly, we want to hear from ambitious, curious engineers who are ready to take their career to the next level.

  • Commercial development experience with C# / .Net / .Net Core
  • Front end coding ability with JavaScript, CSS, HTML and React
  • Experience of cloud development and a cloud-first approach
  • Awareness in SOLID and knowledge of Domain Driven Design principles an advantage
  • Experience of RESTful API Design and authentication with OAUTH
  • TDD experience
  • Awareness of Event Driven Architectures or distributed systems coupled via messaging
  • Experience with SQL server and T-SQL
  • Practical experience using JavaScript and ReactJS experience would be an advantage, but is not essential

For all candidates, we are looking for people who are:

  • Team players and not afraid to get stuck in. You understand that no individual is bigger than the team and you thrive in a culture of supporting others
  • Hungry and eager to learn, you're comfortable failing fast to succeed faster
  • Pro-active and able to demonstrate initiative positively and collaboratively
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

How we reward you:

At Flagstone, the benefits extend beyond false gifts like "fruit and snacks". Instead, we invest in your health, wealth, and professional development. Here's a selection of our benefits:

  • Hybrid working - Spend at least 1 day a week with your team in our collaborative London office
  • Competitive bonus scheme - designed to reward and recognise high performance
  • Flexible benefits budget - a pot to fund meaningful benefits for you, whether it's hormone or fertility testing, cancer screening, neuro-diversity coaching or something that matters for you.

All are welcome.

At Flagstone, we're assembling a diverse team that defies our industry's norms. Think this role could suit you? We encourage you to apply, no matter your background.
