We're looking for a Family Support Officer to join our team at CF Education. You'll play a key role in working alongside families, education staff, and external professionals to ensure children and young people are supported to engage in education and overcome barriers to learning.
This is a varied and rewarding role combining communication, problem-solving, and partnership working. From acting as a key point of contact for families, to attending meetings and supporting access to education, health, and social care services, your work will make a real difference to the lives of the families we support.

Key Responsibilities
- Support families to understand and engage with CF Education, including SEN processes and expectations.
- Act as a key point of contact for families, ensuring clear, timely, and supportive communication.
- Provide information, guidance, and signposting to education, health, and social care services.
- Work collaboratively with education staff to support pupil engagement and family involvement.
- Liaise with external professionals and agencies to ensure families receive coordinated and appropriate support.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Conduct initial assessment meetings with families to support planning for bespoke educational provision.
- Maintain regular contact with families, responding to queries and concerns sensitively and professionally.
- Identify barriers to attendance and engagement through visits and calls, working with the team to find solutions.
- Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, ensuring actions are followed up and recorded accurately.
- Record all notes, communications, and documentation securely using CF Group's MIS system.
This role includes a mix of office-based work and visits to students and families across multiple local authorities.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, including KCSIE.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of GDPR and confidentiality requirements.
- Ability to use Windows-based IT systems to manage records, reports, and documentation.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Desirable
- Experience in a family support or family liaison role.
- Experience within the UK education system.
- Experience as a DSL or DDSL, including relevant training.
- Experience using safeguarding systems such as My Concern.

Working Pattern:
- 40 hours per week – 8:30am to 5:00pm (8:00am to 4:30pm on Fridays)
- Working 39 weeks Term Time, plus 3 weeks
