It's not about what you've done elsewhere; it's all about what you're capable of doing here.The Work You'll Do:We are seeking an Embedded Solution Architect (ESA) with deep Sovos compliance knowledge to drive the success of our embedded Independent Software Vendor (ISV) partners through strategic onboarding, technical enablement, and ongoing technical relationship management. This role primarily focuses on Sovos product technical expertise but also requires solid business acumen and collaboration skills to ensure our embedded partners maximise value from our platform while accelerating their time-to-market and revenue growth.More specifically, you will:Partner Onboarding & EnablementGuide partners through every step of their journey—from initial technical discovery to full production rollout and beyond—blending high-level strategic vision with technical expertise to ensure seamless integrations that drive mutual success and lasting relationshipsLead technical discovery sessions with partner engineering teams to understand ISV system architecture, data models, and integration requirementsDesign optimal API integration patterns including RESTful APIs, webhooks, and real‑time streaming connectionsEvaluate authentication methods (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys) and recommend security best practices for each partner's specific use caseArchitect data synchronisation strategies, error handling protocols, and rate limiting approaches that scale with partner growthDesign and execute comprehensive technical onboarding programmes for embedded partners that educate on Sovos integration and usage best practices while ensuring smooth technical integration and timely solution deliveryServe as the primary technical point of contact throughout the partner lifecycle; build and maintain strong relationships with partner technical leaders, architects, and development leadsAdvise on the design of comprehensive testing frameworks for partner integrations including unit tests, integration tests, and end‑to‑end validation scenariosEstablish automated testing pipelines using tools such as Postman, Newman, or custom test harnesses to validate API functionality across different environmentsCreate performance benchmarking protocols to ensure integrations meet latency and throughput requirementsImplement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify integration issues and API performance degradationLeverage deep understanding of our products and global e‑invoicing and tax regulations to advise ISVs on the most suitable solutions for their product landscapePartner with compliance teams to embed the latest regulatory requirements into every integrationStrategic Growth & OptimisationAnalyse partner technical usage patterns and business metrics to identify expansion opportunitiesDevelop technical strategies to help partners optimise their integrations and improve performanceSupport partners in achieving technical milestones, certifications, and go‑to‑market objectivesFacilitate connections between partners and relevant internal stakeholders for joint initiativesMonitor partner health metrics and proactively address risks to partnership successCross‑functional CollaborationCollaborate with internal engineering, professional services, product, and support teams to resolve technical issues and feature requestsWork closely with Sales, Partner Account Managers, Professional Services, Support, and Marketing teams to ensure aligned partner experienceCollaborate with Product Management to influence roadmap based on partner feedback and requirementsPartner with Engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues and drive product improvementsSupport Business Development in technical aspects of new partner evaluations and negotiationsWhat We Need From You:Technical SkillsDeep knowledge of Sovos Compliance technologies including eInvoicing and/or eReportingBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field highly recommended5+ years of experience in technical customer‑facing roles (Customer Success, Solutions Engineering, or Technical Account Management)Demonstrated experience working with ISV/embedded partners, with in‑depth knowledge of ordering, purchasing, and invoice generation and exchange processesStrong understanding of software development lifecycles, APIs, cloud architectures, and integration patternsExperience with modern development technologies (REST APIs, microservices, containerisation, CI/CD)Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practicesKnowledge of enterprise software ecosystems and SaaS business modelsBusiness & Relationship SkillsProven track record of managing complex technical relationships with enterprise clients or partnersExperience in partner ecosystem management, channel partnerships, or ISV relationships preferredStrong project management skills with ability to coordinate multiple stakeholder initiativesExcellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for business audiencesExperience conducting executive‑level presentations and technical reviewsDue to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check upon hireWhat Does Sovos Offer You?The tools to enhance your life - because we want you to enjoy your life outside of work and inside30 days holiday (plus 8 days BH)Health insuranceDental insuranceLife insuranceCritical illness insuranceIncome protectionMental wellbeing supportGlobal Meeting Free DaysAward Winning Career Development and Training opportunities, and moreSovos is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing an environment that celebrates diversity and where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and employees.
