Solutions Architect

After successfully establishing the Automatic Enrolment legislation (and regulation of that legislation), we have managed to help an extra 10 million people start saving for their retirement. Now AE looks to the future and the next step in our role of protectingsavers. As AE starts on that journey to reshape itself, we need you, a proven Solutions Architect, to work with our stakeholders in AE and set out the vision for a future solutions estate which supports AE's strategic objectives. You will work closely with Business and IT colleagues, Service Delivery teams and the AE IT Delivery Lead to guide the technology design and development - carving out a clear, iterative roadmap to successful delivery. You will: - Own and develop the roadmap for the development of TPR's (AE) Applications (SAAS, Packages, MS Dynamics, etc.) in our Microsoft Azure tenancies. Building the roadmaps and guiding the teams that deliver value and excellence in our business. - Work with Business and other Solution Architects on resolving the key business issues we face in a cost effective and practical manner, architecting solutions (using Microsoft and 3rd Party Solutions). This includes pursuing a more data driven approach aligned to the corporate strategy for TPR as well as Business, Data and Enterprise Architectures. - Provide technical leadership to solutions, infrastructure and development teams. - Support developing IT technical solutions to solve business problems and achieve TPR business objectives. - Contribute towards the development and implementation of TPR's IT and Data strategy using "Cloud First" approaches. - Continuously improve Architecture, Development, Infrastructure, DevOps methodologies, processes and standards including 'best practice' and policies relating to TPR's solutions and their development. Set an example for Delivery and Technical teams, by promoting DevOps and Agile approaches to delivery, while guiding and advising design and delivery. Essential and Desirable Criteria: Broad knowledge and experience of Business Solutions, ideally in the Microsoft Technology Stack - Azure DevOps and Software Development Lifecycle tools - Data management methodologies. - Demonstratable knowledge of Architecting loosely coupled, event driven solutions. - Expert knowledge in identifying product choices in support of delivery activity authorised through IT governance - Comprehension of regulations governing IT, e.g. Data Protection, GDPR, Pensions Act - Broad knowledge of modern architecture patterns (e.g., microservices, data platforms) their suitability, complexities and alternatives. - Broad knowledge of Web, Cloud and Database principles and architectures; specifically, Microsoft technologies, including Azure, SharePoint, Dynamics 365 CRM,.Net, Logic Apps, Power Apps, Power Automate (Flow), SQL Server and Enterprise Architecture plusBI/MI experience, ESB/ETL, Data and Cyber Security and SaaS, PaaS plus IaaS. - Assist with delivering end-to-end software lifecycle improvements, using agile and DevOps delivery methods and multi-disciplinary teams Desirable - Government Digital Services (GDS) Standards knowledge / experience. - Experience of 'Service Design' and working with architectures to support service delivery. - Experience of PowerApps and Power Automate - Experience of SharePoint - Experience of Power BI - Experience of leading a team delivering services to a large programme Person specification - Strong Communication skills - Proactive and flexible - Can do approach - Problem solving and analytical skills - Communication skills at all levels - Attention to detail and accuracy
