The Head of Technical Program Management will lead the third‑party team in the transition from our current vendor and the transformation of our network. The transformation programme has over 30 streams of work, delivering a network that will power retail and digital growth.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, own and deliver highly complex, multi‑disciplinary initiatives in partnership with senior leaders.Co‑create roadmaps, objectives and key results alongside Head of Product and Head of Engineering.Facilitate continuous refinement and prioritisation of initiatives with Product, Engineering and Business leaders.Drive data‑driven decisions through metrics and regular reporting, fostering transparency.Build trusted relationships across business and technical teams, simplifying sophisticated problems.Maintain executive relationships with vendors and external partners to ensure outcome delivery.Establish a culture of trust, transparency and continuous improvement, coaching and mentoring teams.Own technology budget, drive value for money and manage contractual negotiations.Educate partners on product ways of working and leverage industry trends to improve internally.Champion the TPM community, share lessons learned and drive consistency across the organisation.Who You AreExtensive experience delivering large‑scale initiatives across multiple product functions.Excellent interpersonal skills, proactive 'can‑do' demeanour and ability to communicate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including directors.Track record of providing technical leadership across domains, product groups and programme management from ideation to value delivery.Strong understanding of Agile/Scaled Agile practices including Scrum, Kanban and DevOps.High professionalism, leadership and coaching skills in lean Agile practices.Experience defining and handling key achievements and outcomes in Product/Programme delivery.Financial and commercial foresight, including leading budgets and contractual negotiations.DesirableExperience with Agile Project/Portfolio Management tools (e.g., Jira, ).Familiarity with facilitation techniques, thinking frameworks and coaching tools.Knowledge of engineering practices such as BDD, XP, Agile Testing, CI/CD.Prior experience in the Retail industry.Agile or Scaled Agile certification.Strong facilitation skills and a culture of continuous learning.Benefits20% colleague discount across all M&S products after probation.Competitive holiday entitlement with the option to buy additional days.Discretionary bonus schemes based on performance.Generous Defined Contribution Pension Scheme and Life Assurance.Induction and wide range of training programmes.Perks via M&S Choices portal.Industry‑leading parental, adoption and neonatal policies.Well‑being support including 24/7 Virtual GP and PAM Assist.Charity volunteer day.About M&SWe’re ambitious, inclusive and committed to building diverse teams where everyone can bring their whole selves to work. xpwpeyx We support reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process.Seniority LevelDirectorEmployment TypeFull‑timeJob FunctionProject Management and Information TechnologyIndustryRetailLocationLondon, England, United Kingdom#J-18808-Ljbffr
