objectives.Head of Group Compliance (HoC)Provide the Group Board with reasonable assurance that systems, controls, policies and procedures are adequate and operating effectively.Provide oversight and coordinate the efforts and resources of the compliance functions of all the regulated subsidiaries within the Group.Offer a high degree of technical and practical investment and financial planning compliance experience, able to engage well with regulators and respond to complex regulatory queries promptly and accurately.Ensuring that compliance is embedded within the Group's strategy and business plans, thereby contributing toward the overall compliant operations of the firm.Maintain an open and approachable relationship within the business to promote a good compliance culture.Maintain close contact with senior management, discussing any compliance breaches / remedial action and providing advice as required, to promote a culture of compliance and to identify the optimum course of action in all cases.Maintain technical knowledge of investment and financial planning compliance experience, able to engage well with regulators and respond to complex regulatory queries promptly and accurately.Ensure that the company conducts its regulated business activities in line with the FCA and other relevant regulations.Remain up to date with regulatory developments and recommend / implement changes.Conduct compliance related project work as determined by the Compliance Committee, Audit Committee or the Board.Work with the business to ensure that the firm establishes and maintains appropriate policies, procedures, systems, and controls.Provide clear, accurate and timely guidance to the business where queries arise.Develop, motivate, and lead staff to ensure their potential is realised and the Group business objectives are met.Provide coaching and guidance to team members and the business as required.Horizon scanning: Attending industry committees (e.g. PIMFA), events, training and reading and keeping up to date with relevant legal, regulatory and guidance publications.Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO)Provide overall leadership in relation to the prevention of financial crime, including Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing, Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking, Market Abuse, Bribery and Corruption, Sanctions, Tax Evasion, and Fraud.Establish, assess, and maintain effective systems and controls for the prevention of financial crime.Ensure financial crime risk is considered in the day-to-day operations of the firm, in the development of new products and processes, in onboarding of clients, and adopting appropriate technology to do so where possible.Identify and assess financial crime risks to the firm and assess the systems and controls in place and evaluate their effectiveness (Financial Crime Business Wide Risk Assessment).Conduct Country Risk and Sector Risk assessments.Oversee the firm's Financial Crime Framework, including all Financial Crime Policies, Systems, Controls and Procedures.Oversee and monitor the firm's customers that are PEPs/RCAs or assessed as posing a higher risk for financial crime, e.g., residency in a higher risk jurisdiction for financial crime.Oversee and monitor the quality of Screening tools.Review and give final approval to onboard, to reject, or to off-board, any customers assessed as posing a higher risk for financial crime.Develop, provide, and arrange financial crime training for all relevant individuals.Represent the firm, as necessary, with the trade bodies, for example as a member of the PIMFA Financial Crime Committee.Produce the annual financial crime report (MLRO Report) for the Board.Produce the annual financial crime (REP CRIM) report for the FCA.Conduct investigations.Submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) to the National Crime Agency (NCA).Submit Fraud Reports to the Police (Action Fraud), where appropriate.Oversee the submission of Suspicious Activity or Order Reports (STOR) to the FCA.Liaise with law enforcement, where appropriate.Ensure adequate records are kept and maintained in compliance with regulations.Horizon scanning: Attending industry committees (PIMFA), events, training and reading and keeping up to date with relevant legal, regulatory and guidance publications.Member of the Group's Compliance Management Committee, MemberWCIM Board, Member-in-AttendanceEducation & Experience5+ years of relevant experience in a senior compliance role.Significant management level experience.Educated to degree level or equivalent.Appropriate professional qualifications to ensure knowledge is up to date e.g. the HoC and MLRO is Level 6 qualified with the Diploma in Investment Compliance (CISI) and holds the CAMS qualification.Other AttributesHighly ethical.Strong leadership skills.Ability to coach, mentor and develop teams.Ability to interpret complex regulations and relay them practically to the business.Experience in interpretation and implementation of regulatory change within a business environment.Ability to engage with the full range of business functions.Strong communication, report
