Senior Payroll Administrator – Bellway Homes As the Senior Payroll Administrator you will report directly to the Payroll Manager and work as part of a small, friendly payroll team where you will play a key role in ensuring a smooth and accurate payroll operation. You will be based at our Group Head Office in Woolsington, Newcastle upon Tyne on a fixed term contract basis for 12 months. Bellway is a FTSE 250 five‑star house builder, headquartered in Newcastle upon Tyne, which operates 22 trading divisions across England, Scotland, and Wales. The company has grown from a family firm, established more than 75 years ago, into a respected national brand, selling over ten thousand homes a year. Key Responsibilities Managing end‑to‑end processes including starters and leavers Maintain accurate records of payroll data for multiple payrolls Review and verify timesheets Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payments Submission of statutory returns to HMRC Processing statutory deductions Respond to employee payroll queries with professionalism and care Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure alignment on employee data and benefits Support audits and compliance checks by preparing relevant documentation Third party records, i.e. AEO’s, pensions Other ad hoc payroll reports as required Train and mentor junior payroll staff as needed Liaise with other departments in a friendly and professional manner Experience Experience of working within a similar role will be preferred Experience of working in a fast‑paced environment with strict reporting deadlines Experience of working with construction or housebuilding is desirable Qualifications and training GCSE Maths and English – Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) A‑Level Maths is desirable CIPP is desirable Skills and Aptitude Excellent administration and organisation skills Analysis, numerical and report writing skills Strong communication, listening and problem‑solving skills Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines Demonstrates a high level of discretion and confidentiality Excellent attention to detail Ability to work on own as well as part of a team Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and the ability to adapt to new systems Committed to diversity and inclusion Working Conditions Willing to be flexible in respect to day to day duties and hours worked Office based role Fixed Term for 12 months In return we can offer you Contributory pension scheme Access to discounts and benefits portal ShareSave Scheme Cycle to Work Scheme Life assurance Holiday Purchase Scheme Earn and Learn Opportunities Seniority level Associate Employment type Contract Job function Finance and Administrative Construction and Building Construction #J-18808-Ljbffr
